Down by the fjord/sea there is a reconstructed boathouse for longships, together with a blacksmith’s and a primitive ironworks.
There are several information boards in the area. From May to September, the Viking ship will be moored at the quayside and you are welcome aboard. In the summer you can help sail or row the ship. You can also try your hand at axe-throwing, archery, riding Nordland horses in a ring (children only) and a number of other activities from June 15 to August 31. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk along the gravelled pathways from the Chieftain’s House to the Viking ship moorings down by the sea (approx. 1400 metres). There are good spots for taking photographs along the way.
