The Farm Animals

There are large expanses of cultural landscape around the Chieftain’s House.

In summer, ancient animal species graze there. It is about 1400 metres from the museum entrance to the Viking ship moorings. Allow about a 20 minute walk each way. Gravelled pathways link the areas together. There are a few hilly stretches along the pathways and there are information boards with details of the remnants of buildings, burial mounds, etc.
