Practical Information

Do the Vikings have cash machines? Where can you park? How do you enrol on a seminar?

Bring some cash along.

Most of the market stalls are unable to accept payment by card, Vipps or mCash. Credit or debit cards and Vipps may be used at Skjeltersjåen Café. The nearest cash machine is at Lofoten Sparebank, Bøstad, approx. 1.5 km from the museum (you can pay by card at the museum shop, museum café and at the ticket office in the museum itself)

Tickets

On sale at the museum’s main entrance / the Glass House (credit/debit cards and cash) and at the entrance to the festival area (cash only). Choose between day tickets or festival passes. Tickets allow access both to the museum and the festival.

Parking

is available at the museum’s main car park on the E10. If you are physically disabled, please ask one of our staff for permission to drive down to the festival area. There is no parking in the festival area except for vehicles with special permission.

On foot

It is about a 1.4 km walk (good gravelled pathways, some hills involved) from the museum itself to the festival area. Allow approx. 20 minutes each way.

Food and Drink

I Skjeltersjåen Café (in the festival area) serves/sells warm and cold drinks, Viking dish of the day, hot dogs, pancakes and other light snacks, ice cream and cakes. The Museum Café (in the Glasshouse) serves normal fare all day, hot and cold drinks, dinner, light meals, etc.
