Rules for the Viking Festival

  • It is not allowed to drink alcohol during working hours (during festival opening hours)
  • Consumption of alcohol after the festival’s opening hours must be done in a restricted area
  • It is not allowed to smoke or snuff in public
  • It is everyone’s responsibility to keep the festival area clean and tidy
  • Mobile phones and other technological objects are not allowed to be visible during the festival’s opening hours
  • Fires must be lit at specified locations
  • During the opening hours of the festival it is not allowed to set up or pack down stalls or tents. This must be done before or after working hours.
  • All transport to the festival area must be approved by the museum and must be completed half an hour before the festival opens. After the festival closes, transport can resume after half an hour.
  • After 11 pm it must be quiet in the festival area

Dress code

  • Wear costumes inspired by clothes that were used in the period 800-1050 AD.
  • Jewelry for use during the festival must be inspired from the Viking Age, other jewelry must be approved in advance.
  • Nail polish is not allowed

Those who do not respect these rules will be expelled from the festival area.
