The blacksmith is present in the smithy several days a week in the summer, where he will be making arrowheads, nails, and other things required on the farm. The blacksmith is happy to receive guests in the smithy.
Furthermore, you can have a go on the balancing beam on your own, or try setting up a timber frame building. You will find both of these activities near the Skjeltersjåen Café and the smithy. In the Chieftain’s House you can put on a helmet and try out a sword, and learn a little about the board game Hnefatafl, and perhaps also something about Viking Age crafts. Guides and/or artisans in or around the Chieftain’s House will be happy to demonstrate and tell you about their handicrafts.
Groups of all sizes can book various activities all year round. Groups wishing to secure participation in activities during the summer must book in advance (at an additional charge).
In the summer of 2020, you can try a family activity called Group ActivitiesLokis Tricky Rune Path.
