In the autumn holidays (week 40) there are extra activities for children and families. Some activities will take place outdoors (weather dependent), while others will take place indoors. The activities take place during the museum's opening hours from 11 am to 3 p.m.
Wednesday 06.10: Spear throwing outside the longhouse
Thursday 07.10: Flatbread baking
Friday 08.10: Braided bracelets in wool and leather, and bookmarks in leather
Saturday 09.10: Viking Pizza
Flatbread baking and Viking pizza: Children make flatbread in the Viking way, with ingredients that were available then. They get a small lump of dough that they should flatten out as best that they can with their hands. Then we bake it over the fire. We also have to make «Viking pizza» over the fire. Children make pizza with ingredients that were available in the Viking Age, over the fireplace. The guests will enjoy the warmth of the fire and experiencing the atmosphere in the world of the Vikings.
In addition, you can of course experience the archaeological exhibition which consists of unique finds found here at Borg. The museum gift shop is always open when the museum is open and you can experience the world's longest reconstructed longhouse for the Viking age.
NB: Changes due to the situation with the corona may occur. Thanks for understanding.
