Over an open fire in the Feast Hall, or the Living Quarters, lamb soup is simmering in the large cauldron. A meal experience for the whole family.
The blacksmith can be found every day in the smithy this summer. The smithy is located down by Viking ship harbour. You can also find craftspeople in the chieftain´s house where they are doing different crafts.
Being agile, playful, and adventurous is good if you want to be a good Viking - and whether you are a child, young or adult.
The museum is open during school holidays in winter (Feb, March) and two days during Easter 2021. Groups are always welcome to book their visit inside and outside ordinary opening hours.

In the archaeological exhibition and in the cinema, we have an audio guide system. In the Viking chieftain's house and outdoors, there is no audio guide system. Due to COVID-19, we do not lend iPods, tablets or headsets.

In September and October, there will be many extra activities for children and adults at the Viking museum. Almost every Saturday you can join in on a different activity (however - some are conducted in the Norwegian language).

There will be activities and experiences for the family during summer 2020 at Lofotr Vikingmuseum. The Viking Chieftain longhouse opens June 1. Starting June 15, there will be extra activities.
