What happens in August 2020
In August, the summer season in Lofoten is waning, but the Vikingmuseum is still active. There will be Viking games, trips with the Viking ship and the outdoor café will be open in the Viking harbor thoughout most of August. The Vikings' warm lunch takes place until mid-month.

Archeologicial exhibition, film and the Chieftain's House is open.
Bring your smartphone to listen to the stories about the findings that are displayed. (We cannot lend out ipods and headsets at this time due to covid-19 - please bring your own)
Viking Feast every evening for individual guests (prebooked) at 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM. (Currently not available)
The Museum Gift Shop is open during museum opening hours.
The Museum Cafe is open during museum opening hours.
June 15 - August 30:
Extra activities: shoot with bow and arrow, throw axes and horse shoes. The activities take place at the Viking Ship Harbor, where there is a nice environment with several reconstructed buildings.

Skjeltersjåen Café at the Viking Ship Harbor is open.
June 15 - August 16:
Enjoy the Vikings' warm lunch in the Chieftain's House.
July 1 - August 16:
The Viking ship Vargfotr is sailing (or rowing) with the museum's guests until August 16th. From August 17th the viking ship is docked in the Viking Ship Harbour.
August 5 - August 9: 100-150 Vikings - market - activities - performances with music and theater, games and competitions 5 days to end! Read more about Lofotr Viking Festival. (FESTIVAL 2020, CANCELLED)
